Omnitribe & Soulective Present Earthday at Agave Farms 4/22/17

About EarthDay

DID YOU KNOW?
The first ever Earth Day took place on April 20, 1970, after Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson became concerned with an oil spill in Santa Barbara. With the help of 85 staff members, 20 million people throughout the country gathered in public spaces and universities to protest and discuss ways to protect the environment and defend the planet.
FAST FORWARD!
Present day, environmental awareness is blooming and people are getting more involved. Inspired by the No DAPL movement and the peaceful protest of the pipeline by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota, thousands and thousands of people from all over have gathered and taken a stand, protesting and discussing ways to protect sacred land and this beautiful planet. See the similarities?
WHAT IF?
Imagine 20 million people decided to mindfully make small actions toward helping make this Earth a better place and then just kept doing it. It could be as simple as everyone picking up a piece of trash in their hometown once every single day or planting a tree somewhere new once a week.
Earth Day is not just one day out of the year, but every day! Together we can clean up this planet and move towards a more sustainable and peaceful way of living.
“It takes a lot of people doing little things to make a big difference.”
The possibilities are endless.

“My art is that of holding sacred space. The degree to which I can hold space musically or in silence, on a stage or with a client on the massage table, determines if magic will happen. Whether we are dealing with the space between notes or the space between breaths, the healing power of my work happens when I get out of the way and allow Spirit to move through me.”
– Poranguí
As a live musician, world soul artist and one-man orchestra Poranguí weaves ancestral songs and indigenous rhythms from around the globe. Creating his performances from scratch using looping technology, Poranguí’s live grooves range from meditative to dance party, moving the body, lifting the spirit, and transcending the divide between performer and audience. An evening with Poranguí might take you on a journey from deep, earthy didgeridoo grooves to high-vibe ecstatic Brazilian beats to blissful African kalimba lullabies. Serenades and storytelling to beat boxing and booty shaking: Together, these make an unforgettable experience.
As a DJ, Poranguí performs funky tribal world house sets that integrate live instrumentation, a hybrid of his organic indigenous sound with a potent electronic bed that moves large dance floors. And in sound design and media production roles – including film soundtrack contributions – Poranguí’s work is informed by experience with photography and filmmaking.
For Poranguí, this rich practice of music, healing, teaching, performance, and creative collaboration represents the intersection of journeys both personal and professional.

About Omnitribe and PHX Tribal Nights

“Telling the PHX Tribal Nights story is no simple task. The extent of reach into the community and dedicated involvement of all contributors has been deep.

Members of the community have donated time, talent, money and resources to ensure a safe and sober healing and celebration space is available in Phoenix on a recurring basis.

The organizers and producers of the PHX Tribal Nights event have assembled into a core group and formed a leadership council to direct our mission into manifestation, to: Create intentional, safe and sacred spaces for sustainable and transformational community experiences.

This intention based focus has generated an umbrella organization for all future PHXTribal Nights events and community involvement, titled OMNITRIBE. It is under this new cause based organization that all future decisions will be made.

This objective was achieved organically and without controls or constraints originally. The cause and affect on other people’s lives has been significant. The Veterans of Arizona have been especially grateful and have called us to ever grater purpose.

The native community in Arizona has engaged in dialogue as well and many new partnerships have been formed with many more on the immediate and long-term horizon.

While PHX Tribal Nights has been the catalyst to these causes stepping forward, it is the OMNITRIBE intuition that the nature of this interest is due to a demand for a more unified, conscious culture in Arizona and the world at large.

Additionally, the council has begun a 5 year plan for a permaculture village and is beginning conceptual ideation and acreage visits for future festivals and growth opportunities.

The Phoenix Arizona OMNITRIBE 2017 council is:

Andrew Young
David Avatara
Nathaniel Jack Greene
Justin Winters
Aaron Hill
Daniel Hirz

Members are voted into the council and terms are being defined for a future collaborator nomination process.

In the meantime, we are operating weekly under this new model and are here to share the abundance provided to our community and ask for your support. We are currently seeking lead collaborators for various different roles that are required for each event and business operations as applicable. Lead Collaborators are our first sponsors and promotional opportunities are available.

Please attend PHX Tribal Nights Collaborators meetings for details on how you can be a part of this exciting new community in development.”

L-PHX Tribal Nights: Gathering to Celebrate-

Our mission is to create an experience that fosters a feeling of acceptance and encourages people to step outside their comfort zones. In this environment one can learn, grow, and connect deeply with themselves and others.

Decompression Tank (Firehouse)
This will be a space to relax and be replenished with various classes, herbs, elixirs and sounds. Here we will have sound healing and many other healing modalities. We envision floor couches, bodywork tables provided by SWIHA students to fulfill their internship hours, a teahouse in the corner, and an oxygen bar.

Movement Playground (Downtown on Central)
This space will be used to ground and release daily stress through moving meditation and inward expression. Music selection in this room will mainly be provided by DJs. Different Movement classes will be facilitated to allow full integration into the experience.

Drum Circles
Will happen sporadically throughout the night on the outside / inside patio off central.

Vendors
Only artists who create handmade goods and are based locally will be chosen to offer: Jewelry, Crystals, Essential Oils, Herbs. Art, Sculptures, Clothing, Flow Toys, and Face Painting. These vendors will be set up in the raised VIP area and directly behind the adjacent wall in the street facing room/patio.

Cafe
Items to keep stocked in the cafe during this event include different kinds of Kombucha, Cocoa, Kava, Tea, Natural Drinks (Lemonade, etc) and Smoothies. Also anything else considered to be Vegetarian, Vegan or Raw Gourmet. We are currently reaching out to other food vendors who can offer packaged food / drink options through the Cafe.

Alcohol:
Intoxication would be counterintuitive to authentic experience we want to create. Depending how this goes we may eventually for larger events, keep one room to wristbands and allow the sale of alcohol to draw in a wider audience needing transformation.

Throughout / Outside venue:
There will also be various art installations, For example, live and interactive / co-created art, Flow arts (Poi, Contact Staff, Hoop, Fans, Silks, Slackline, Acrobatics, Stilt Walking), Flow Art workshops, Poetry or Open Mic, Tarot / Oracle / Palm readings, 3D video mapping / Projections

Local DJ’s
We plan on starting organically with local DJ’s and eventually save up to invest in a Headliner. This is subject to change based on sponsorship funding.

Dance Performers
Just like the DJ’s we plan on starting organically. There are many dancers in the community that would perform for free, but our goal is to be successful enough to pay everyone their fair share.

DIGITAL PERMACULTURE DOME STRUCTURES FEATURED IN MOVIE “THE SPACE BETWEEN US”

Digital Permacultures custom dome structures have been featured in feature length film “The Space Between Us”

In this interplanetary adventure, a space shuttle embarks on the first mission to colonize Mars, only to discover after takeoff that one of the astronauts is pregnant. Shortly after landing, she dies from complications while giving birth to the first human born on the red planet – never revealing who the father is.

Thus begins the extraordinary life of Gardner Elliot – an inquisitive, highly intelligent boy who reaches the age of 16 having only met 14 people in his very unconventional upbringing. While searching for clues about his father, and the home planet he’s never known, Gardner begins an online friendship with a street smart girl in Colorado named Tulsa.

When he finally gets a chance to go to Earth, he’s eager to experience all of the wonders he could only read about on Mars – from the most simple to the extraordinary. But once his explorations begin, scientists discover that Gardner’s organs can’t withstand Earth’s atmosphere.

Eager to find his father, Gardner escapes the team of scientists and joins with Tulsa on a race against time to unravel the mysteries of how he came to be, and where he belongs in the universe.

About Digital Permaculture

“We are Digital Permaculture and we’ve invented a new style of digitally fabricated art. Based here in AZ USA, we use custom coded software we developed that enables us to build custom geodesic structures for rental or sale. “

“We are artists developing a brand new building style using upcycled or recycled steel and other materials. We make steel into hyper complex geodesic “spaceframes” bigger than buildings using the custom software we wrote. We see the geodesic art as a vehicle to help raise awareness around geodesic architecture and its potentially beneficial implementation into future city projects and arcology designs, as well as to bring awareness to the works of and ideas of the writer, scientist, and inventor, Buckminster Fuller.

“We can use drones to 3d scan an area, create models, choose materials, use custom fabrication facilities in phoenix, and assemble and build/dress on site with fabric or led lights (solar powered for standalone projects) we have many options for the area, and our business is creating custom structures to fit an area or project.”

MARCH 28TH 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Woven Light Bridge by Digital Permaculture to appear at The Market Street Prototyping Festival in Mesa AZ November 10th & 11th 2017

Digital Permaculture has been accepted into the The Main Street Prototyping Festival http://marketstreetprototyping.org

The Main Street Prototyping Festival is led by a collaborative team made up of representatives from the City of Mesa, Downtown Mesa Association (DMA), Neighborhood Economic Development Corporation (NEDCO), LISC Phoenix and Mesa Arts Center (MAC) https://www.mesaartscenter.com/ http://bettermarketstreetsf.org/

Main Street Prototyping Festival applicants submit proposals to create temporary projects – from gathering places to pathways, from games to performances to interactive artwork – that activate public space and engage the community toward enhancing connectivity and vibrancy in Downtown Mesa. The temporary design installations (prototypes) will be showcased in a two-day festival in November 10th & 11th 2017 and residents will be invited to vote for their favorites.

[Prototyping: (noun) to create and test an experimental model of a new idea or object.]

Out of the submissions received, 20-25 proposals will be accepted. The prototypes will turn Downtown Mesa into a creative playground—a place for interacting, sharing ideas and engaging in new ways. Visitors will have opportunities to provide feedback and vote on their favorite ideas.

Installations will activate Main Street public spaces from Country Club Dr. to Sirrine, and between 1st Ave & 1st Street, in the heart of Mesa. The event will allow pedestrians to experience, explore, and interact with the prototype installations. It is hoped that the community’s favorite ideas can be moved forward for longer-term prototyping, and possible permanent installations of select projects, in the future.

The Main Street Prototyping Festival asks residents, artists, and urban planners to dream, design ideas and discover a more welcoming, diverse and connected downtown Mesa.

Selected submissions will be displayed for public interaction during the 2-day Festival, Friday – Saturday, November 10-11, 2017. The festival will also include outdoor performances and food.

OUR GOALS

ENGAGING COMMUNITY

Actively engage the local community in planning and shaping the future of downtown.

Increase the number of people who have a sense of ownership in downtown.

BRIDGING DIVERSE RELATIONSHIPS

Build strong relationships within and between the South of Broadway communities and downtown.

Seek, communicate and welcome the involvement and participation of people from diverse

backgrounds, ages and cultures.

PLACEMAKING

Further develop Downtown Mesa as an arts-centered, friendly and innovative place with an increasingly exciting urban center.

Create an interactive festival with exciting prototypes and extraordinary experiences that inspire community participation and feedback.

Woven Light Bridge by Digital Permaculture

This is a thirty-two foot wide handmade geodesic archway constructed of recycled steel and wrapped in woven LED lights and fabric.

Size = 32 foot across – 15 foot high – 6 feet deep

This is a 32 ft wide archway wrapped in woven LED lights and fabric.

Mock up with model

We are going to do a new style of fabric which consists of diamond patches of spandex stretch fabric.  The LED style is similar to the picture in the middle.  The gaps in the LED’s will be filled with diamond shaped fabric patches.  The fabric is translucent and will light up from the LED’s as well as prevent any unsupervised pedestrians from climbing on the structure.

The structure provides a very pleasing, slowly fading, interwoven rainbow of light.  The LED’s are not covered with fabric and face straight out from the structure.  It will be amazing to see at night and will light up the whole area, providing a pleasant area to congregate at night and discuss new ideas.  It activates a space by freeing people’s minds through shapes and colors.

It will consist of 12, 36 watt LED strips.  432 watts maximum power.  This is about 1/4th the power of a blow dryer so we can easily plug it in anywhere there is a plug.  You can see the LED pattern below on the left.  This installation will not have the star.  In the gaps between the LED’s there will be diamond shaped spandex fabric patches.  The star illustrates what the diamond patches will look like.  The gaps between the fabric and structure create a whimsical design.  We don’t want to cover the LED’s.  We want them to be visible at their maximum brightness.  This will make the installation visible for blocks and draw people in.

This design is proven to be safe and easy to install at many events and locations.  We have done similar installations at Gem and Jam Music Festival in Tucson, Az in 2014 and 2015.  Euphoria Music Festival in Austin, Tx in 2015.  Caliroots Music Festival in Sacramento, Ca in 2015.  Tempe Farmers Market in 2015 and many other locations.  We know this is an easy to install design.  We are building a fresh archway which is larger than the one in the pictures, stronger and easier to assemble.  We are augmenting it with improved LED’s and fabric.
